What Is the Noom Diet?  
 
That diet plan was one of the most searched for diets whole year but should you try it? 
 
The Noom is a weight-loss app—one that’s got an estimated 45 million active users, a pretty significant number considering there are over 200,000 weight-loss apps available. 
 
Noom is designed to boost healthy behavior and with time you can lose weight. The Noom diet is still too trendy. 
 
Noom describes as a program to “help you to improve live a healthier life by helping you create better habits,” and the app is designed to be your personal weight loss coach. 
 
Noom says its users have an “average weight loss of 18 pounds in 16 weeks”—a healthy weight loss rate that suggested that it could have more substance than the average diet app. 
 
So what is Noom getting right, or doing differently, to stand out in the sea of weight loss apps?

The losing weight is too sure you burn more calories than you consume. The better way to be sure you lose weight effectively is to be sure you are tracking the food you eat on a daily basis. 
 
However, this process can be a bit tedious and a bit difficult knowing what is actually being put into the food you eat, which can also cause you to get poor results. 
 
With Noom, the process of selecting food so much easier, it let you browse and compare different food options which make logging your food simple. 
 
Noom has a very large food database with over 3.7 million options to choose from so here are some of the benefits of use Noom diet 
 
Here is the amazing thing about Noom diet: 
 
1- Providing eating plans designed by registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) 
 
2- Noom allows users to log meals and track exercise, read articles, search recipes, set goals. 
 
3- Noom allows users to receive support from a personal health coach (note: not RDNs), rate your motivation level, track progress. 
 
4- Noom allows users to connect with a group of peers with similar goals. 
 
5- Noom takes care even addresses emotional eating, and how factors like stress and boredom may impact eating decisions. 
 
6- Noom for many people is that it doesn’t ban any food. 
 
7- Noom encourages eating more nutrient-dense foods (labeled green), such as fresh produce. 
 
8- Noom not ban but minimizing the portions and/or frequency of yellow-tagged (proteins, starches) and red-tagged foods (the latter being pizza, candy, alcohol, and the like). 
 
The best thing, you can do all of this by your fingertips since you using your phone. 
 
What is the potential Positives (advantages) and Negatives (disadvantages) to Noom? 
 
The goal of the program seems to be to help you find a new normal that’s healthy and has stick-with-it-ness, so it emphasizes behavior change, rather than a quick fix that’s likely to fizzle out. 
 
Here are the potential advantages to Noom: 
 
1- Many of the people I counsel greatly benefit from daily support. 
 
Waiting an entire week between consultations can be extremely challenging when you’re eating 21 to 35 or more meals in between. 
Others send me daily texts or email dairies. This type of support and feedback will have a tremendous impact on success. 
 
2- Noom addresses social eating and allows you to do things like plan ahead for events—like a party, holiday, or vacation. 
Noom costs less than working with a dietitian unless the latter is entirely covered by your insurance plan. 
In terms of outcomes, if the participants log their eating and weights more frequently they will successfully lose weight, According to Noom, 64% of users lose 7% or more of their body weight, and 60% maintain the loss for one year at lest. 
 
Here are the potential disadvantages to Noom: 
 
1- Some people hate tracking, and find it to be cumbersome and stressful. 
 
2- Some are also trying to spend less time on their phones, not more, and fare better with IRL counseling and support. 
 
3- If you have any kind of special dietary needs, such as food sensitivities or allergies, or chronic conditions like IBS. 
here it’s best to work directly with an RDN, as a dietitian’s training includes both clinical nutrition and weight loss. 
 
4- Some people noted that the coaching messages seemed automated, and others weren’t thrilled with the accessibility of the coaching. 
 
Finally, Some people love the app and have positive experiences. Others complain that canceling is not so simple, or that they are not happy with the content or coaching provided. 
 
For me, I like that Noom’s focus goes way beyond calories and food, and the app’s virtual approach was convenient while also providing a feeling of connectedness to a real program and coach. 
 
although while the app provides support, the user ultimately has to make his or her own eating and exercise decisions. 
 
So this app might very well wind up like a virtual version of a spontaneously ordered treadmill that soon becomes nothing more than an expensive clothes hanger. 
 
In other words, while Noom may not be a fit for all,  you really do need to be motivated and engaged in order to benefit. That means how much weight you can lose, and how fast you lose it are really determined by you. An app is simply a tool.
